Leadership That Looks Like Jesus
Leadership that looks like Jesus doesn’t resemble a race to the top—it’s a descent into surrender. The greatest model we’ve ever been given is one of humility, compassion, and divine authority flowing from a servant’s heart. True leadership bows before it stands. Jesus didn’t push for recognition or demand influence. He led from intimacy with the Father, empowered by the Spirit, and anchored in love for people—even the unfaithful, unqualified, and unseen.
1. It Serves in Secret
Before He ever walked on water or preached to thousands, Jesus served in obscurity: He worked as a carpenter, He prayed in solitude, and He washed the feet of His disciples in a borrowed room. He wasn’t proving Himself—He was preparing Himself. Leadership that looks like Jesus doesn’t seek the stage first; it seeks the secret place. When you learn to serve when no one is watching, heaven prepares to release what eyes haven’t seen.
2. It Listens to Heaven
Jesus said, “I do nothing on My own but speak just what the Father has taught Me.” (John 8:28). Spirit‑led leaders aren’t driven by pressure or popularity. They move by what they hear in prayer. God’s timing, God’s methods, and God’s voice must be the fuel behind our leadership. This means slowing down, turning down other voices, and asking daily, “Father, what are You saying today?”
3. It Loves to the End
Even as Jesus approached the cross, He continued to teach, correct, comfort, and love. John 13:1 says, “Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.” Leadership that looks like Jesus doesn’t quit when it’s uncomfortable. It doesn’t check out when it’s inconvenient. It remains loyal, faithful, and full of grace—even through betrayal, disappointment, or loss. The cross did not disqualify Him—it qualified Him. So it is with us.
A Final Thought: Taking Up the Towel
In every generation, God raises up leaders—not just with crowns on their heads but with towels in their hands. If you feel called to reject ego-driven models and adopt a leadership style like Jesus’, this is your invitation. Servant leadership isn’t weakness—it’s power under submission. Let Crowned for Servant Leadership be your companion as you rise to lead with purpose, power and purity.

Prayer
Father, thank You for the example of Jesus. Teach me to lead like Him—serving in secret, listening to heaven, and loving to the end. Remove ambition, insecurity, and fear. Fill me with humility, wisdom, and compassion. As I take up the towel, release Your power through my obedience. In Jesus’ name, amen.
